The field of sleep science is fast-expanding, and my role is to empower you with the most up-to-date knowledge and insights from the science world and support you in making informed choices, as you find your way towards sustainable and restorative sleep.
Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy for Insomnia (CBT-i)
CBT-i is widely-recognised in the field of sleep medicine as the gold-standard treatment for insomnia and also the first-line treatment to sought for. Clinical improvements of at least a 50% change in baseline measures of insomnia have been observed in 75% of insomnia patients using CBT-i.
Numerous longitudinal studies have shown that when compared to sleeping pills head-to-head, CBT-i is more effective in treating insomnia, with more sustainable results in the long term and without any of the side effects one would experience from taking sleep medication or melatonin.
Acceptance and Commitment Therapy: for Insomnia and Anxiety (ACT-i)
ACT-i is known as the third wave of CBT-i. Recent studies (such as a 2023 study in Nature and Science of Sleep) have shown that ACT for insomnia has significant effect on insomnia and sleep quality, and is a helpful intervention particularly for those who have high anxiety around their sleep problems.
My approach is a highly personalised one, combining classic CBT-i techniques with newer ACT sleep coaching techniques to meet you exactly where you are at, providing you with a pathway to better sleep that provides flexibility and adaptability to other parts of your life.
